What is a Home Health Aide?

Home Health Aides (HHA) help people who are disabled, chronically ill, cognitively impaired, and older adults, who may need superior assistance, compared to care from family members. These residents typically live in their own homes or in residential facilities, opposed to health facilities or institutions. Most aides work with elderly, physically disabled, or intellectually disabled clients. Others discharge hospital patients who have relatively short-term needs.
